Firstly, many thanks for taking the time to look at our website and considering Sholden C of E Primary School as an option for the education of your child. We know that choosing a school for your child can be a difficult and anxious time for parents. We believe that our school is unique in many ways and that we can offer our children something different.
Starting a new school for the first time at any point in a child’s education is a very important step in their life; our aim and concern is to make this step as easy and successful as possible. We would recommend a school visit to ensure you find the right place for your child.

Applications for primary school places for Reception in September 2027 open on 6 November 2026 and close on 15 January 2027.

Admissions to Infant, Primary & Junior School in Kent Guidance 2027

Starting at Primary school... Important dates to remember
Step 1: Research schools and understand their admissions criteria.
Step 2: Complete the online application form naming up to 3 preferences.
Step 3: Complete any required Supplementary Information Forms (SIF) and/or medical evidence and return to the school.
Step 4: We offer you a place on National Offer Day.
Step 5: You accept or refuse the place and provide your proof of address from the application period to the school.
Step 6: If you don’t get a place at your preferred school you can join the waiting list and appeal.
If your child is due to start primary school in September 2027, you can appeal if you are refused a place at one of your preferred schools on National Offer Day (Friday 16 April 2027).
You must submit your appeal before Monday 17 May 2027 for it to be considered by Monday 19 July 2027*. Any appeals received after this time will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline, or where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.
For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged where reasonably possible in line with updated guidance from the Department for Education.
Appeals can be made directly to the Primary Admissions Office at KCC by completing the following appeals form: Appeal a school offer - Kent County Council.
*Please note these dates are yet to be confirmed by KCC and will be updated in due course

Please note: Sholden C of E Primary School also has its own supplementary admissions form which needs to be completed alongside the KCC admission form.
In-Year Admissions
If you wish to move your child to a different school in Kent, you will need to submit an In Year Admissions Form. For more details visit the KCC website for In Year admissions
Admission to Secondary School in Kent 2027
The online application window for children enrolling into Year 7 in September 2027 opens on Tuesday 1st September 2026 and closed at midnight on Monday 2nd November 2026.
